CNN got it right. They first reported the Individual Mandate was “Struck Down.”
When I saw the news, I felt like throwing myself off the balcony, which I think is how we’ve been feeling on The Left, for too long. Then I got a call from Mom. She told me the Individual Mandate had been “Upheld.”
Suddenly, it felt like I was being pulled out of a nightmare, slowly waking up, realizing I’d been sleepwalking and what I took as reality was the opposite. So thank you, CNN, for helping me process the emotion.
Now on to the news…
I want to thank John Roberts for acting like a Mensch. Today, the High Court officially became “The Roberts Court.” The Chief Justice showed the country, and the world, we’re a country with reverence for the rule of law, not a country with weirdo worship of rulers.
Iran has Supreme Rulers. America has a Supreme Court.
I’d like to invite Antonin Scalia to step down from the High Court; I’d like to invite Antonin Scalia to run for office; he’d make a tremendous candidate, unbeatable. I also think he’d be much happier in the role of partisan, since he’s clearly unhappy in his current job. So like an adult, it’s time for the unhappy judge to put on his big boy pants, leave the job that’s making him act like a child, throwing public temper tantrums, and step into the role of grown-up, by finding a job more suited to his “disposition.” Welcome, Antonin, to the uncertainty of adulthood.
It’s Constitutional For Obama To Care.
Now is the moment, this is the time for the debate to evolve. Now is the moment, this is the time for the senate and congress to refine the Affordable Care Act. Now is them moment, this is the time to bring back the Public Option.
If Mitt Romeny wants to be a real candidate, he has to leave behind the childishness of Birtherism, Socialism and Obstructionism.
Otherwise, he’s going to get “Doled.”
This is what my Dad calls any politician who’s been set-up to fail, like Bob Dole when he ran against Bill Clinton. But it doesn’t have to be Mitt Romney’s fate. He doesn’t have to get “Doled.”
Listen, John Roberts agrees with you, Mitt. Of course, I’m talking about the Mitt who argued forcefully for the Individual Mandate. I’m talking about the Mitt who passed RomneyCare. I’m talking about the Mitt from Massachusetts. It’s time to stop running away from your accomplishments, grab your big boy parts and lead.
Otherwise, by the end of this year, Mitt, you’ll be peddling Viagra. Incidentally, thanks to The Roberts Court, your boner pills are covered. Which leads me to believe this is a terrible day for Ann.
